I started playing brass at the age of eight on Horn. On moving to High school (aged 11), I switched to Eb bass. I played for the school band until I left at the age of sixteen.
As there was no band at sixth form, I joined Pilling Band on Eb bass. After a couple of years, I left Pilling to go to university. On my year out from university, I switched to Bb bass, which I have played ever since. On returning to university after my year out, I joined the nearest band, Hathern Band. On finally leaving university, I came back to play for Pilling full time, and have been with the band ever since.

As well as playing for Pilling band, I look after the band website (which I first started in 1996).

Another of my hobbies is brewing beer - I am a member of CAMRA and run the Fuzzy Duck Brewery
