Kirkby Lonsdale Contest Victory

Last Sunday marked the annual contest in Kirkby Lonsdale. The contest consists of marching to the town square (judged on deportment), and playing a march, hymn tune and test piece. This year, an unjudged concert piece was added at the end of the programme.

We played the march 'Ravenswood', the hymn tune 'Angelus' and the test piece 'Saint-Saëns Variations'. The concert piece chosen was 'Billy's Exibiition Hop'.

We won for the second year running, beating both bands in our section (fourth) and bands in the third section!
